    Postecoglou wants a striker

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed he wants a new striker this summer - amid interest in Dominic Solanke.

SunSport revealed Tottenham were keen on the Bournemouth forward back in January.

Now Solanke, 26, is among Spurs’ attacking targets during this close-season though he would not come cheap.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea man has a £65million release clause which would equate to a club-record fee for Tottenham if they triggered it.

Cherries owner Bill Foley said last month that he was confident his 19-goal centre-forward would stay.

Postecoglou admitted he had to be “creative” last term with his striking options as he spoke publicly about wanting a new No9.

At Celtic, I had Kyogo [Furuhashi], who was a sort of out-and-out No9. In Japan, I’ve always had a striker. It just depends, like last year we had to be a bit creative, it’s fair to say. If Harry [Kane] had stayed, I definitely would have used him.

For us, what’s more important is the type of striker we get. We play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it’s going to be a striker that fits that mould.

It’s still the area of the park we’re probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us.

    More on Osimhen

Napoli will not be keen on splashing the cash for Romelu Lukaku and risk having Victor Osimhen returning next year after a loan to Chelsea.

Osimhen commands a higher wage bill (£8.4m per year) than Lukaku (£5.9m per year).

Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping tabs on the Nigeria international and there is strong Saudi interest but he is not keen on a move to the Middle East.

Osimhen and Lukaku are training away from their squads due to the uncertainty over their futures.

New Napoli manager Antonio Conte really wants to sign the Chelsea star.

    Chelsea eye Victor Osimhen

Chelsea are interested in signing Napoli star Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.

And that could see Romelu Lukaku heading the other way in exchange for Osimhen.

Lukaku's exit would free up a sizeable amount of money on the Blues' wage bill and that would help in a bid for the Nigeria international.

Talks have centred on the Belgium international going on a permanent deal to Naples, while Osimhen would move to west London either permanently or on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

    Gallagher on the move

Chelsea have accepted an offer from Atletico Madrid for Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher has just one year remaining on his contract with his future at Stamford Bridge in doubt.

The midfielder turned down two offers of a new deal this summer.

The latest was a three-year deal - two years plus the option of a third - that would have put him in line with the Blues' top-earning midfielders.

But now the West Londoners are waiting for the England international to make a decision on his future with Atletico ready to pay around £34million for his signature.

    Liverpool urged to sign Bowen

Michael Owen has urged Liverpool to make a move for West Ham star Jarrod Bowen.

He told Prime Casino: "TheMo Salahchat has sort of faded a little bit, so I'd be surprised if he left Liverpool, but the problem for the club is that he hasn’t got long left on his contract, so you have to make a decision one way or the other.

"They have great options at the moment with Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez, but if one of them left,Jarrod Bowenwould be my favourite.

"But he has signed a long-term contract atWest Ham,and he might even be their captain. He also isn’t 19, so when you talk about a long-term replacement, you’re looking at players who might give you ten years and not be in their 30s in two or three years. I’m not sure clubs want to spend 10s and 10s of millions on those players nowadays."
